COBRA Hood Block

M-J Hoods have designed and built a brand new hood block for making a Dutch hood based on the design and fit of our best selling "Slijper" hood.  A block range has been "Symmetrically" reproduced via CNC machining during 2007 covering all the size ranges from Jack Merlin to Gyr Falcon. We will also be producing our own Eagle blocks, as well, based on a similar design that will be producing "KAIZER" slip on hoods for the Autumn/Fall of 2009. We are also looking into designing Carbon Fibre hoods from both the COBRA and the KAIZER hood blocks during 2009...... watch this space.

The new hood block has been designed on the principles of :-

Raptor

  • "Maximum" eye room.
  • An ergonomic fit for complete comfort.
  • Correct gape alignment & casting depth.
  • Easy hooding technique with no tapping adjustment.
  • A fit for Hawk & Falcon with an adjustment to gape pattern only prior to blocking.

Hood making

  • Style: "Sharp Break"
  • Hood symmetry.
  • Instant pattern alignment.
  • Easy grip stem for tooling and burnishing.
Pictured below is the very first COBRA hood made on the initial clay model of the COBRA Hood block. in 2006.
