The Throw Lure:
Designed to encourage "waiting on" and Stooping,
footing and binding to rising game. Wait until the falcon has
taken a pitch slightly up wind ... then throw the lure at a high
angle down wind so the lure makes a big arc.... watch the falcon
stoop in from position and try and hit it. You will find that the
falcon will stand on it in the same way that she would on real prey
and eat from the head positioned food an then start a plucking
session on the wings. The weight of the Throw lure is enough to
prevent carrying and also simulates the average weight of the prey
species. The weight inserts are placed in the top middle of the lure
and fixed in place so there is no movement within .... there is
approx 1 1/2 inches of thick padding either side of the weights for
extra safety to the falcons feet.
Tiercel = 13oz Throw Lure (Can be made to customer
weight specifications)
Falcon = 1lb Throw Lure (Can be made to customer
weight specifications)
All lures are tooled for a feather effect on the
main body and also to aid binding. The padding used within the lure
is rot proof and the leather is easily wiped clean. The lures are
hand stitched and the "stress" points of the lures have been
strengthened with nylon webbing inserts to prevent eyelets from
pulling away from the leather. The stitching is "Barbour" Terko
Nylon and will not rot and all edges of the lures are bevelled off
to soften and prevent any "sharp" edges exposed to the feet of the
falcon.
